What is StudyLife.ie?

A small, independent research project about student life in Dublin. We want to understand how study, work, commuting, money, social life and other day-to-day pressures affect students' overall study–work–life balance.

2

Why you've been invited

We're inviting students from a range of Dublin colleges and universities, rather than running an open public survey. That way we hear from a considered mix of people, courses and circumstances.

How we contacted you

We came across your public LinkedIn profile, which shows you study at a Dublin college, and sent you a private message with a personal invitation code. We note your name next to that code so your invitation and gift card go to the right person.

3

What you'll be asked

A quick age check, then seven short sections, taking about 10 minutes in total:

Your gift card

When you finish the survey, you'll get a €25 Just Eat Digital Gift Card code, shown right there on screen.

  • One gift card per invitation, for invited respondents who complete the whole survey.
  • You can see your code again any time by re-entering your invitation code.
  • Questions or issues with the gift card? Email hello@studylife.ie.
  • Your answers never affect whether you receive a gift card.

How we handle your answers

Strictly confidentialOnly StudyLife.ie can see your answers. No one else.
Never sold or publishedFor internal use only. Never shared for advertising or marketing.
Yours to see or deleteAsk at any time and we'll show you your answers or remove them.

Your answers are saved with your invitation, so they aren't anonymous: we can tell which answers are yours. That's also what lets us show you your data, correct it or delete it whenever you ask.

What we keep

  • From your LinkedIn profile: your name.
  • From us: your invitation code, the gift card code set aside for you, and the dates and times you first opened your invitation and completed the survey.
  • From your answers: your age band and gender (or "prefer not to say"); your college, course area and year; your class timetable; how you travel to college; your work and how you fund your studies; your answers about sleep, stress, social life and balance; and anything you write in the final free-text question.

A few questions ask about sleep and stress. The law treats those as health-related, so we only collect them with your explicit consent, which you give on the invitation page before you start.

What we don't collect

Your email address, phone number or student number. We don't store your IP address, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

How results are used

Findings are private and for internal use only. They are never published or shared outside StudyLife.ie. We don't use your answers for automated decisions or profiling.
